The file you upload never leaves your device. Unfollowed compares your followers and following lists inside your own web browser. Your data is not uploaded to us, not stored on a server, and not shared with anyone. Close the tab and it is gone.

To use Unfollowed you upload the data file that Instagram provides to you through its official "Download your information" feature. That file is read by code running in your browser. It is never transmitted to us. We have no server that receives it, and therefore we cannot read, store, sell or lose it.
We never ask for your Instagram password, and Unfollowed never logs in to or connects to your Instagram account.
If you purchase the full list, your browser stores a single small marker recording that you have unlocked the service, so you don't have to pay again on that browser. It contains no personal information. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Our optional Chrome extension, if you install it, stores the usernames it collects in your browser's local extension storage on your own computer. That data is never transmitted anywhere and you can erase it at any time with the "Start over" button.
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you pay, you enter your card details on Stripe's own secure checkout page. We never see, handle or store your card number. Stripe processes your payment information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. We receive from Stripe only what we need to recognise a completed payment and to issue refunds.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors. If we later add basic, privacy-respecting visitor statistics, we will update this page before doing so.
Because we hold almost no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to disclose or delete. If you have paid, Stripe holds a record of that transaction. You may email us at any time to ask what we hold, to request a copy, or to ask us to delete it, and we will respond within 30 days.
Unfollowed is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date at the top.
